Gary Trosclair, LCSW, DMA

Psychotherapist and Jungian Analyst

*   *   *

For over 30 years I have provided psychotherapy for obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), perfectionists, workaholics, people with Type A personality, and depression. I work with individual adults both in person and virtually via Zoom (but not while they are driving!).

I do not work with couples, and I do not offer evening or weekend appointments.

My fee is $260 per 50-minute session. I do not accept insurance, but I can provide a statement for your insurance company for you to get reimbursed if you have out-of-network benefits.

Westchester County, New York

16 Hollywood Avenue East

Tuckahoe, NY 10707

For more information about psychotherapy for OCPD and how I practice, you may want to read some of the blog posts I have written specifically about psychotherapy, my book about OCPD, or my book about how to get the most out of psychotherapy.

Out-Of-State and Out-Of-Country

Unfortunately, due to licensing issues, I am unable to work with patients who reside outside of New York, or are unable to come to New York for their sessions. I am licensed only in New York state, and all states have laws requiring the practitioner to be licensed in the state in which the patient resides, unless the patient travels to the state where the practitioner is licensed. For similar issues I am unable to work with patients from other countries.

I am aware that finding a therapist familiar with OCPD and its treatment can be difficult. I wish it weren’t. And while reading a blog or book may be helpful in moving toward the healthier end of the compulsive spectrum, meeting regularly with a professional is often needed. So here are a few ideas:

Search on Psychology Today for therapists in your area who are trained in Schema Therapy, RO DBT, personality disorders, or Jungian analysis.

Search on the OCPD Foundation website.

Other than these suggestions, I do not know OCPD practitioners that I can recommend.

The Healthy Compulsive book is now available in paperback in addition to hardcover and e-book format:
